VIII. Gay Games Cologne 2010

Choral Evensong on Aug, 1 2010 at 6 pm in the Antoniterkirche
Choral Evensong – A cooperation project with the Church of England: an evening prayer will be held, a Choral Evensong in tradition of English Cathedral and rich liturgy. The vesper will be celebrated in English by Reverend Ian Gallagher, the Bonn English Singers, and a team of the Antoniter City Church. A booklet with lyrics enables the attendants to co-celebrate.


"Friday-Night-Fever" church service on August 6, 2010 at 6 pm in the Antoniterkirche

On the basis of the Gospel, the Antoniterkirche exerts itself deliberately for lesbians and gays. Therefore, besides the CSD-church service, other church services for lesbians and gays and their friends will be held. The first church service of this kind was held on September 22, 2007, is still held on regular basis and should take part on the occasion of the Gay Games VIII Cologne 2010. This church service will be held as an evening church service with the Holy Communion and participants from the Gay Games will help to organize it.


10-minute-prayer service at the Antoniterkirche, each at 6 pm


In the middle of the excitement of the many events of the Gay Games, the 10-minute-prayer services offers a relaxing interruption. The bells of the Antoniterkirche are clearly audible for the people who are strolling along the Schildergasse. Monday through Friday, at 6 pm, you can listen and get inspired as a Bible-word of the day is given. Organ music and songs will get you in the right mood. For several decades, this method of prayer service is held at the Antoniterkirche.
